Privia Security was chosen as one of Türkiye's fastest growing companies!
One of the most important needs of our country in the field of cyber security is to train qualified experts and human resources. We would like to share with you that the applications made to the internship programme, which we have launched to provide a solution to this problem and have been running for three years, have been met with great interest. As Privia Security, in addition to the consultancy, training and R&D work we offer in the field of cyber security, we continue to add value to our sector by offering the Cyber War Academy long-term internship programme aimed at the cyber security, software and design ecosystem to our valued university students.
A total of 1,438 applications were made by our university students to the Cyber War Academy internship programme, which has been met with intense interest. We would like to thank our valued students for these applications received within a one-month period. We would also like to remind you that after the application process, information has been sent to the registered email addresses and work has begun for the exam process.
Moving with the mission of training qualified experts, we share with you, our valued readers, the statistics for our Cyber War Academy Internship programme prepared for students who wish to pursue a career in the field of cyber security.
As Privia Security, thanks to the Cyber War Academy programme we open regularly every year, we step outside classic internship approaches and offer applied training, providing our students with real hacking experience in simulation environments. For the Cyber War Academy programme we have offered with this mission, we received a total of 1,438 applications within a one-month period.
There are a total of 209 universities in our country. 131 of these universities are state universities and 78 are foundation universities according to the 2020 records. When we evaluate the 1,438 applications we have received for our Cyber War Academy programme, we see that we received applications from 177 different universities (a very small percentage of applications also came from foreign universities).
In our announcements, we stated that our applications were open to everyone regardless of department. At this point, as shown above, we have received applications to the Cyber War Academy from 72 different departments across 177 different universities.
The answers given to the “Your year of study” question in the applications are as follows. When we examine these answers, we see that 3rd-year students are at the forefront.
On the other hand, when we examine the years of study of our students for the applications we received from 72 different departments across 177 different universities, we see that the most applications were made by 3rd-year students (only 1st, 2nd and 3rd years were added as an application requirement). We received 682 applications from third years, 470 applications from second years and 286 applications from first years.
The answers given to the “Your department” question in the applications are ranked as follows. Considering these answers, we see that Computer Engineering students are at the forefront.
When we examine the university departments of the students who applied to the Cyber War Academy, Computer Engineering comes first. This is followed by Computer Programming students and in third place, students studying Management Information Systems. The application numbers for the top five are as follows.

Six different areas have been determined for Cyber War Academy applications. In these six different areas defined for Design, Content Development, Software and Cyber Security, the most applications were made to the Cyber Security Intern (Offensive / Defensive / Forensic) area. This was followed by Software Backend and Frontend Interns, then Content Development for our PriviaHub product, and finally Design (UI/UX) intern applications.
Announcements for the Cyber War Academy internship programme were made through many channels, and contact was also made with the clubs of many universities. At this point, the answers given to our question created word clouds as follows.

In the word cloud we have created with these words, the larger fonts represent the most discussed words and the smaller fonts represent the least used words. When we examine the words, we see that Cyber War Academy announcements were frequently shared via channels such as Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and Telegram, as well as the shares and recommendations of our valued university lecturers and cyber clubs, all of which were influential.
In the Cyber War Academy application form, our students were asked whether they had done an internship before. Those who responded to this question are shown below.

We see that the majority of those who answered this question have done an internship before in some form. At this point, we see that there are 232 people who have never done an internship before. It is also notable that a large portion of these students are in their 1st year.
Our students who applied to the Cyber War Academy were asked for their Github addresses. When we examine those who responded to this question, it turns out that the majority of them have an account on Github. GitHub is considered an important tool for software. As well as being able to share your projects on Github, there are also many professionals turning to GitHub for workflow and collaboration improvements. Essentially, GitHub is defined as a cloud-based software tool that hosts a version control system called Git.

The number of those who responded to the question by providing their Github address is 862 people. However, we can say that we also noticed 576 people who do not have a Github address in any form.
The Twitter addresses of those who applied to the Cyber War Academy were requested in the application form. When we examine the results, we see that Twitter users are in the minority, but that one-third of those who applied continue to use Twitter.

Although it is not a critical question, despite 962 of the 1,438 applicants stating that they do not use Twitter, we see that 476 people have an active Twitter account.
In this question, our students who applied for the Cyber War Academy were asked for their LinkedIn addresses. When we examine the answers received, we see that a large portion of the 1,438 applicants have a LinkedIn account.

We see that 1,130 people who applied to the Cyber War Academy have a LinkedIn account. Unlike Twitter usage, we see high usage in LinkedIn use. On the other hand, 308 applicants stated that they do not use a LinkedIn account.
Our results for the Instagram address, which has become one of the must-haves for young people in today’s technological world, are as follows.

When we examine Instagram usage, we get an almost half-and-half result. Of the 1,438 applicants, 650 people have an Instagram account, while 788 people stated that they do not have an Instagram account.
Our valued students were also asked in our application form why they chose the Cyber War Academy. The word cloud we created for the answers given to this question is as follows.

When we examine the responses received, answers such as that the Cyber War Academy will add value to their careers, that they can develop themselves with the Privia Security family and similar responses were received. We would especially like to thank those wishing to develop themselves who stated that they could achieve their goals through the Cyber War Academy programme, and we thank everyone for the intense interest shown in the programme.
We thank all the candidates who applied to the Privia Security Cyber War Academy Internship Programme that we organise regularly every year, and wish them success in the exam.
